It gets worse...
"Obama's internal review [about "Blagojevich's alleged plot to sell off the Senate seat Obama had vacated after winning the presidency"] was entirely voluntary and intended to demonstrate that his team had nothing to hide, and was committed to its pledge to run 'the most open and transparent transition in history.'
So much for "the most open and transparent transition in history."
The review itself answered just one of those questions — we now know that White House Counsel Greg Craig led the review, which didn't include any documentation of what materials it went over — but it raised others, among them: Why did Obama confidante Valerie Jarrett communicate with Craig through her lawyer, whom the report does not name; how many conversations did incoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel have with Blagojevich; and why was Obama himself interviewed by prosecutors?
And the anal Democrat Machine/Obama spin-control goes on:
The report suggested Obama wants his advisers to get his permission before even ostensibly private conservations with outsiders.
And so Obama throws some of his choicest, most highly-favored, hand-picked people under the bus in the name of protecting himself:
Twice in handling the Blagojevich scandal, top Obama lieutenants were singled out for botching the message.
The report makes clear that Emanuel was the only person in Obama's transition who had any contact with Blagojevich about filling the Senate seat and that his contact wasn't authorized by Obama.
And Obama political guru David Axelrod made a public mea culpa after his boss contradicted a statement from an interview he gave last month, before the governor's arrest.
In it, Axelrod unambiguously described a conversation between Obama and Blagojevich about filling the seat, saying, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names, many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."
But after Obama declared he hadn't spoken to Blagojevich, Axelrod issued a statement saying, "I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the president-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy."
The second part of Obama's answer was so vague as to be nearly meaningless. "I was not aware of what was happening" can mean anything you want it to. It can mean you weren't aware of anything relating to the Senate seat, or that you weren't aware the governor was trying to sell the Senate seat, or that you weren't aware the governor was under federal investigation for trying to sell the Senate seat...Was Obama purposefully trying to be unclear? It's hard to say. It's a little hard to believe that he didn't know anything that was happening relating to his old seat."
(sigh) Nobody has a concern about the fact that these supposedly genius lieutenants are suddenly (?) getting this so very wrong? They went the entire campaign without "making a mistake" and now this?
No one cares (or just won't admit that they do care) that it's Obama And Company doing the evasive funny business now. This smacks of the same kind of shenanigans and lying of which they accused Bush And Company for the past eight years. What an auspicious beginning. One can only wonder: if they start off this bad, how much worse can it get?
I also find it fascinating, now that Big Media doesn't have Bush And Company to kick around any longer, that they've started to peel back the smelly onion layers on Obama.
And they haven't even waited for him to be inaugurated.
Guess they have to sell newspapers and airtime ads somehow.

"After Abortion,...run by Emily Peterson and Annie Banno, two women who had abortions in the 1970s, ...tries to avoid the political tug-of-war that tends to come with this turf. They concentrate instead on discussing the troubling personal effects of abortion on the mothers." ~ Eric Scheske, Godspy contributing editor, in NC Register's "Signs of Life in the Blogosphere", 2/2006

"I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion...[many are] aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and [do] not doubt that it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance.
