More Truth about the P.I.N.O. Hurting Americans With His Government Shutdown
One that was forewarned BEFORE the government shutdown that death benefits to military personnel's survivors would be interrupted, yet pretends that he only "learned" about it a week to ten days afterward and acts shocked when it happened?
Several members of Congress from both parties were shocked by the DoD’s interpretation of the law. So much so, a bipartisan group of seven Senators, including Roy Blunt (R-MO), Chris Coons (D-DE), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), John Boozman (R-AK), Tom Carper (D-DE) and Jerry Moran (R-KA) sent a letter to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel calling for the death benefits to be restored. ”Any delay in providing families with this essential benefit is absolutely unacceptable,” it said.
...and yet: Obama, having been forewarned it would happen, LET IT HAPPEN.
Didn't lift a pinky finger to sign anything like what he was just shamed into signing late Thursday....all that remained for the issue to be put to rest was President Obama’s signature. Initially, Carney refused to say whether or not the present would sign the legislation. Later on, he revealed that Obama has no intention of signing the bill. ”We don’t need legislation,” Carney contended. ”The president directed that this be resolved and it has been. What is preposterous is this notion that we should, piecemeal, fix all the consequences caused by shutdown.”Ahh, but it hadn't been resolved yet. Oh, no.
What is even more preposterous is a president more than willing to use dead soldiers and their families as political pawns. Remarkably, no one in the media has apparently bothered to ask an essential question: what is the extent of Obama’s powers as Commander-in-Chief? Why couldn’t the same president who rewrote the healthcare bill via executive order use that same power to order the DoD to pay death benefits? Why didn’t he even make the attempt to do so?Which, of course, you'd never have heard the end of, if this were a Republican President. But not. one. peep. out of the media, because it's the Democrat P.I.N.O., instead.
The answer is obvious: the progressive agenda must be served, no matter what the cost. Toward that end, WWII veterans in their 70s and 80s must be prevented from accessing an open-air memorial erected in their honor, even as illegal immigration activists are welcomed at the same National Mall. American patriots fighting for their survival in Benghazi can be abandoned, and their deaths are blamed on a video, so that the fiction of the Arab Spring can be maintained. The American public can be frightened enough to believe the only fiscal choices the nation has are giving the administration a unlimited amount of borrowed money to spend, or enduring default and ruination. Our healthcare system must be transformed into a government fiefdom run by bureaucrats and monitored by the IRS. The Republican Party must not be the voice of spirited opposition, but the epitome of everything the American people should hold in contempt. Are you angry enough yet? To call your Senators and Congressmen and say, stand up to this tyrannical P.I.N.O? That isn't the President any of us deserve, and least of all, those who gave their all for our nation, or their surviving relatives:And because that agenda is so “noble,” it can be imposed by any means necessary.
Pentagon Comptroller Robert Hale let the ideological cat out of the bag when Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) criticized him yesterday at a House Armed Services hearing regarding the denial of benefits. When Coffman insisted that the Hale’s objective was to “inflict as much harm as you possibly could in your own department,” while the DoD “took it upon itself to disregard the will of American people and violate the law,” Hale became indignant. “I resent your remarks,” Hale told Coffman. “I acted on the advice of attorneys and our best reading of a loosely worded law, and we did our best. It was not a political judgment.”
The best reading of a loosely worded law would have provided grieving mothers and fathers a measure of comfort when they were tasked with burying their sons and daughters. If this administration ever had anything resembling a moral compass, it no longer exists. Whether he knows it or not, Barack Obama owes the entire nation an apology for an atrocious debacle. One that could have been very easily avoided. That it wasn’t speaks volumes.
Update: Finally, after enduring withering criticism from Sen. Cornyn, who noted that his failure to sign the bill represented a “dereliction of duty by our commander in chief,” Obama signed the bill late Thursday.
'If Congress were trapped in a car that sunk down in a river, I would swim to the window, and I would look them all in the eye and say, "Suck water,"' said Randall Peterson, the father of 24-year-old PFC Cody Peterson who was killed in the field. Those 70 and 80 year old WWII vets broke through the barricades and marched or rode their wheelchairs past the signs trumpeting that the memorial was closed, in case you forgot, due to the government shutdown. Those barricades cost money to put up and to man, and those signs cost money to manufacture and distribute, so Obama's people saw fit to not shut that part of the government down.
They know it's Obama who's refused to negotiate, not the Republicans.
These 70 and 80 year old WWII vets stood up to Obama. What about you and me?
Obama only did the right thing AFTER a Republican Senator with cajunes told him the truth: that Obama's failure, his obstinacy, was exactly what it was: DERELICTION OF DUTY BY THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
The Democrats even openly voiced their worry that doing that right thing, restoring military death benefits, will weaken their side in the shutdown matter!
On Capitol Hill, some Democrats worried the Pentagon's decision could ease pressure to reopen the entire government all at once, as Democrats have demanded. They care more about winning their demands than doing what's right by our military families!
Are the bells dinging in your heads yet? Are your eyes popping with outrage yet? Isn't the lightbulb, the shock of what's really true here, hitting you upside the head yet?
Insanity, vindictiveness, and political gain-above-all-else rules in the White House now. Tourists forbidden to leave their hotel rooms or busses at Yellowstone National Park by armed National Park Service rangers? Private parks and businesses who don't take a dime from the government being barricaded and forced to close? NPS rangers removing water spigots from fountains on National Park trails so bikers and joggers can't get a drink of water??
For the first time in American history, a president confessed to deliberately hurting his country to score points against his enemies. ...So Obama has prevented, in this past 10 days, all those Republican-sponsored bills, which would help the American people, from ever even seeing the light of day, because it doesn't suit his political ends.
On October 8, Obama was asked by Mark Knoller of CBS if he was “tempted” to sign the numerous funding bills passed by the GOP-controlled House that would greatly alleviate the pain of the shutdown. Republicans have voted to reopen parks, fund cancer trials for children at the NIH, and to keep FEMA and the FDA going through this partial shutdown. But Obama has threatened to veto any such efforts, effectively keeping the Senate from considering the legislation.“Of course I’m tempted” to sign those bills, Obama explained. “But here’s the problem. What you’ve seen are bills that come up wherever Republicans are feeling political pressure, they put a bill forward. And if there’s no political heat, if there’s no television story on it, then nothing happens.”
We don't have a President. We don't have a Commander in Chief. We have a tyrant who has never NOT gotten his way.
And I can hardly wait for the day when I report to you all that the IRS has come after me, for all that I've written and reported, and I'm not even a Tea Party member! Because if and when it happens, it will just prove, once again, that he's truly nothing but a tyrant. And I'd say it, calmly, clearly and quietly, to his face in person, if I ever had the chance, and then I'd just walk away.
"You care nothing for our military. Not. one. whit. And you think negotiating means making the other side give you all you want, then doing nothing in return. Only tyrants behave that way. Not Presidents of the United States. Not Commanders In Chief. You are nothing but a tyrant. And you are destroying this great nation."
