"Obamacare can't be fixed because it was designed to break."

(hat tip for this clip from RadioViceOnline.com)

That headline quote, from RealClearPolitics.com, and more:

"Obamacare was designed to fail; to fail slowly and incrementally; to fail in a way that would convince people that private, for-profit health insurance companies are the reason why America's catastrophically overpriced and malfunctioning health care system hasn't worked, doesn't work, and will never work. The architects of the Affordable Care Act wanted to 'prove' that third-party private insurance should be scrapped entirely and replaced with a single-payer system: straight socialism.

"The ACA was supposed to fail slowly and painfully over the course of two or three or four presidential election cycles (which is why Obamacare's namesake, Barack Obama, saw to it that it wouldn't be implemented until the second half of his second term). When the backlash came, it was supposed to come on some other president's—preferably a Republican president's—watch. "But instead of failing on schedule, four or eight or twelve years from now—it has failed instantly, upon contact with reality.... Obama, Reid, and all of the other architects of the Affordable Care Act have created a problem for themselves that was designed to be insoluble."

And Harry Reid himself let the cat out of the bag on this (quoted in that same article):
A little over two months ago, Harry Reid gave us the smoking gun quote to tell us where all of this was headed.

"In just about seven weeks, people will be able to start buying Obamacare-approved insurance plans through the new health care exchanges. But already, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is predicting those plans, and the whole system of distributing them, will eventually be moot.

"'What we've done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we're far from having something that's going to work forever,' Reid said. When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether he meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said: 'Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.'...

"Reid cited the post-WWII auto industry labor negotiations that made employer-backed health insurance the norm, remarking that 'we've never been able to work our way out of that' before predicting that Congress would someday end the insurance-based health care system."

By "ending the insurance-based system," he means replacing insurance with a straight welfare-state entitlement, i.e., socialized medicine. So its supporters always anticipated that at some point, ObamaCare was going to fail—as Reid put it, it was not "something that's going to work forever"—and they were planning to pin the blame on insurance companies and on the very concept of insurance itself.

So if that was the goal—if they were planning to make insurance the enemy eventually—then you can see why they wouldn't focus all of their energies on making sure that they create a well-functioning insurance market. You can see why they would turn management of the program over, not to a CEO with successful experience in the health-insurance industry, but to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which manages a welfare-state entitlement, not an insurance system.

And if you haven't read already what "socialized medicine" means, go educate yourselves about what the UK's socialized medicine has done for the Brits here: "Happy Birthday To Great Britain's Increasingly Scandalous National Health Service" by Dr. Scott Atlas.

Who's he? Just a former Professor and Chief of Neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center, from 1998 until 2012. Now, he works as a Senior Fellow specializing in Health Care Policy at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. But the Democrats will try to marginalize and dismiss him as "fundie" or a "crazy" too or accuse him of "playing politics." It's all they can do.

And CBS News reports that there is a "huge spike" in people signing up for Medicaid (free insurance on the government's dime, meaning yours and my taxpayer dollars) instead of private insurance via ObamaCare!

Quelle surprise!
CBS News has confirmed that in Washington, of the more than 35,000 people newly enrolled, 87 percent signed up for Medicaid. In Kentucky, out of 26,000 new enrollments, 82 percent are in Medicaid. And in New York, of 37,000 enrollments, Medicaid accounts for 64 percent. And there are similar stories across the country in nearly half of the states that run their own exchanges.

Medicaid experts say they're not sure why they're seeing the lopsided enrollment numbers, but point out it's easier to enroll in Medicaid than private insurance.

Really? They aren't sure why? How about, umm, BECAUSE IT'S CHEAPER BECAUSE IT'S FREE.

EVERYONE is finding the cost of ObamaCare to be much, much worse than was promised. Read about the poor in Southern states getting slammed with unaffordable quotes. Read about how the Chicago Tribune and New York Times and others are reporting the "sticker shock" all over.

The CBS article goes on to say that Obama expected higher Medicaid enrollments. It's just the rest of it that isn't working:

But Gail Wilensky, a former Medicaid director, said the [Medicaid] numbers are causing concern in the insurance industry, which needs healthy adults to buy private insurance in large numbers for the system to work.

"Either the private insurance enrollments come up somewhere around the expected amount or there's going to be a problem. ... You need a volume and you need a mix of people that are healthy as well as high users in private insurance, in order to have it be sustainable," she said.

"Sustainable." So, what happens if it's not sustainable? Insurance companies shrink their businesses. Fold up and leave states altogether. I.e., ARE DRIVEN OUT OF BUSINESS. Hence, paving the way for the Democrat-Controlled Government to "rescue" everyone with socialized healthcare, and then we all have to do it their way, or it's the highway.

If they've botched it so badly thus far, just wait till they have the whole insurance industry and medical care industry to run, with socialized medicine, single-payer, as it's called.

And they had the nerve to demonize Ted Cruz and all those of us fighting to either delay the individual mandate or repeal or defund it altogether? Turns out we were correct, after all.

With these Medicaid numbers spiking, the eventual result will be no more private insurance companies (and those 400,000+ employed people will now be UNemployed) and there will be more than 50% of the nation IN the cart, instead of pulling it.

Soon, and very soon, we will truly be a welfare NATION and no longer a democracy.

What a genius way to guarantee Democrat votes for years to come: get massive numbers of people on the government dole and then, they OWE their survival to the Democrats who voted them this largesse. See how this ties in to their ulterior design: to get rid of private insurance, have everyone be forced to get this from the government, and assure the Democrats total power (hey, 2/3rds of the political power is what they've had for at least the past five years and that, my friends, is a MAJORITY).

As Jim Vicevitch once said, "This USED to be America."

Still, I can't wait to see how they try to blame all this on George W. Bush.

"I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion...[many are] aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and [do] not doubt that it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance. The Father of mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace...You will come to understand that nothing is definitively lost and you will also be able to ask forgiveness from your child..."

1) The First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

"The Free Exercise Clause reserves the right of American citizens to accept any religious belief and engage in religious rituals. The wording in the free-exercise clauses of state constitutions that religious “[o]pinion, expression of opinion, and practice were all expressly protected” by the Free Exercise Clause.[1] The clause protects not just religious beliefs but actions made on behalf of those beliefs. More importantly, the wording of state constitutions suggest that “free exercise envisions religiously compelled exemptions from at least some generally applicable laws.”[2] The Free Exercise Clause not only protects religious belief and expression; it also seems to allow for violation of laws, as long as that violation is made for religious reasons."

2) Article 18 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, signed by the U.S.A. in 1948, states: "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."

3) Article 19 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."
