Hartford, Stamford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Waterbury, Danbury: Watch These
And if you're not middle-class? Watch the next one, then. It isn't about your cities or our state, but then again, it really is, if you stop and really think about it, as one-timeDemocrat Elbert Guillory did:
Like Mary Landrieu, Governor Dannel P. Molloy and his party know they don't have to do anything really for Connecticut's African-American community, because no matter what the Democrats do or don't do, 95% of black voters will line up and vote for them every. single. time, too.
"In her first inaugural address, she promised a government that would be more responsive to the people, but would keep within the fiscal limits demanded by the times. Looking for ways to economize, she began with herself, returning to the state treasury a $7,000 raise she could not legally refuse... She endeared herself to her constituents when, during the great Blizzard of 1978, she stayed at the State Armory around the clock, directing emergency operations and making frequent television appearances. Her bold move of closing all roads and businesses in the state by official proclamation allowed emergency workers to perform essential services without worrying about stranded motorists, automobile accidents and other issues and allowed the state to get back up and running again in a few days time." [emphasis mine]
Grasso was Governor when I came to the state, and I remember, even as a fledgling Republican, thinking well of her and her level-headedness in matters fiscal and literal.
I also remember that blizzard all too well. People may not recall, but hers was a hugely unpopular, unheard-of decision then, to close the state down. It marked the start of when Connecticutters really began paying attention to and preparing in advance for extreme weather events like that.
So give Elbert Guillory a listen. And ask yourselves: is Connecticut really all that different, or far, from being Lousiana? Or are you really nothing more than just a vote, to the Democrat Party?

"After Abortion,...run by Emily Peterson and Annie Banno, two women who had abortions in the 1970s, ...tries to avoid the political tug-of-war that tends to come with this turf. They concentrate instead on discussing the troubling personal effects of abortion on the mothers." ~ Eric Scheske, Godspy contributing editor, in NC Register's "Signs of Life in the Blogosphere", 2/2006
"Godbloggers could, in the best of worlds, become the new apologists...[including] laymen with day jobs: Emily Peterson and Annie Banno, for instance, at the blog After Abortion..."~ Jonathan V. Last, The Weekly Standard online editor, in First Things's "God on the Internet", 12/2005

"I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion...[many are] aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and [do] not doubt that it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance.
