Sad example of pro-choice and/or pro-abortion people robbing others of their right to free speech.
The accusations flew from this group before they even heard the speaker speak.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black (re: their "hate speech" attack).
Amazing.
One Youtube commenter had a good point that occurred to me as I watched this:
I don't think the audience responded because they were waiting for the proper authorities to do the right thing and usher the disruptors off the scene. If some of them had gotten up to get these brain-damaged protesters out of there, someone might have gotten hurt. I'd be afraid for my safety in the presence of such irrationality as the protesters demonstrated. It's another far-left shoutdown from people who demand tolerance. The irony is delicious; the school should discipline them severely.
Columbus, OH – February 19, 2008 – On Feb. 5, 2009 Saint Mary University of Halifax (SMU) administration shut down Canadian Pro-life Speaker, Jojo Ruba, from the Canadian Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR) [ED.NOTE: I won't link to their site as it has many graphic photos and a video of the results of abortion on the unborn children] after his presentation was loudly interrupted by a mob of pro-abortion students.
A newly formed, university recognized prolife club at SMU invited Jojo to give a talk titled, Echos of the Holocaust which draws similarities between contemporary abortion and historical genocide. [ED.NOTE: We also discussed some of the similarities between abortion and the Holocaust in this post.] Moments into the talk a large group of demonstrators from the Coalition for Choice barged in and began chanting pro-abortion slogans.
As the protest continued, Jojo kindly asked the demonstrators to hold their comments until the end of his talk but they persisted to yell and drown out his request. The protest continued for 40 minutes until university police arrived. The university police threatened arrest but to Jojo’s surprise, the university police and administration chose to shut down the presentation instead of arresting the protesters.
Jojo commented to LifeSite News saying, "St. Mary's should be ashamed of itself for showing students they need only scream when they don't like something, rather than dialogue respectfully." Ruba claimed that in his eight years of speaking he has never been met with such hostility.

"After Abortion,...run by Emily Peterson and Annie Banno, two women who had abortions in the 1970s, ...tries to avoid the political tug-of-war that tends to come with this turf. They concentrate instead on discussing the troubling personal effects of abortion on the mothers." ~ Eric Scheske, Godspy contributing editor, in NC Register's "Signs of Life in the Blogosphere", 2/2006
"Godbloggers could, in the best of worlds, become the new apologists...[including] laymen with day jobs: Emily Peterson and Annie Banno, for instance, at the blog After Abortion..."~ Jonathan V. Last, The Weekly Standard online editor, in First Things's "God on the Internet", 12/2005

"I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion...[many are] aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and [do] not doubt that it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance. The Father of mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace...You will come to understand that nothing is definitively lost and you will also be able to ask forgiveness from your child..."
