WWII Vets Bring Barricades to White House
There you go, P.I.N.O. We don't need no stinkin' barricades...
I truly feel for any federal worker furloughed who is anxious about the shutdown, even though you will all be paid backpay, so it's truly been a paid vacation. Something none of us privately-employed in this or any other nation would ever get.
But it will clearly not be the end of the world, even if the government default date of Oct. 17 comes and goes, contrary to what the mainstream media is yelping.
We have more than enough money coming into the federal government each month (NOTICE, the IRS didn't shut down), more than enough to pay the debt service interest, every single month, no matter how long the shutdown goes on. Go look it up for yourselves. (HINT: you probably won't find the news on your major "news" channel programs or papers...more on that below.)
If the government suddenly couldn't keep spending itself blind, especially after forcing Congress to raise its credit limit a mere NINE MONTHS AGO, that would actually be a good thing. And if foreign nations suddenly think buying up our debt (i.e., giving us more credit dollars to spend) isn't such a wise idea anymore, well, gee, maybe the U.S. of A. will just have to learn to live within its damn means a little more.
Like all the rest of us have to.
But the media was predicting total meltdown--CATASTROPHE!!--in the markets today. Well, they didn't tank. The Dow was up 64, the NASDAQ up 23, and the S&P Index up about 7 points. So much for the sturm and drang. The Democrats and their lapdogs, the mainstream media, are doing their absolute best Chicken Littles: "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!!"
Sure, the markets will tank if October 17th passes without the debt ceiling being raised AGAIN. But they'll rebound and make tons of money in the days following on all the bottom-buying, and the world then might just stop feeding the pig that is US. And life will go on as it is going on now, for the overwhelming vast majority of us.
Get a grip, people. Think an independent thought. Get a second opinion. A REAL second opinion. Would you go to a doctor you're sure is going to tell you the exact. same. thing about your symptoms/possible illness? Or would you go to one you're sure would give you an independently-arrived-at and well-researched, objective opinion?
So why would you go to MSNBC, if you got your first "opinion" from CNN? Or to NBC if you got your first opinion from CBS, or ABC? Or to the New York Times, if you got your first opinion from the Washington Post?
Do you really like being lied to, that much? Do you really like not being told the whole truth that they know full well?
Kind of shoots "evolution" a bit to hell, then, doesn't it?
